Seven years ago today and my heart still aches. I am extremely patriotic and get very emotional when it comes to our great nation (hence why I cried my way through the Summer Olympics). My heart aches for the families who lost loved ones. It aches for the city of New York. It aches for every last person who was directly, or indirectly, affected by this tragedy. My heart and prayers go out to each and everyone one of you ... especially today.
The pink sign the man above is carrying says, "One room available for a displaced person".
"Now we go forward — grateful for our freedom, faithful to our cause, and confident in the future of the greatest nation on earth."

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
The Guru and I are going to visit ground zero this year. I am looking forward to seeing it. That was such a sad day.
Proud to be an American!!!!
I went down to Ground Zero the January after 9-11. I can't even express the emotion I felt being there.
I get just as choked up today as I did on the actual day. I don't think I could handle visiting Ground Zero.
I still haven't been able to go to Ground Zero, but the next time I'm in NYC I definitely will. I am SO proud to be an American!
I was writing the date this morning at work and when I realized it was the 11th, it made my heart sick! Such a sad day!
we saw ground zero just 4 months after it happened. it was still hazy and the mess was unbelievable. it really made us realize what was there just months before. it makes my heart break just thinking about all of it.
I've never been to NY...but its on my list!
I have not been to ground zero, but my family has. My brother witnessed the attack from across the street (from the WTC). He was lucky, he was not hurt physically, but what he experienced that day I will never fully comprehend. I get very emotional too on this day. My son's birthday is today, so that makes the day a little more bearable. God Bless you all...
Beautiful and so agreed. God bless America!
